The State of Iowa has undertaken a statewide address geocoding project which will produce a single, standardized statewide GIS dataset, including building footprints. This will offer increased efficiencies in many areas, especially routing of vehicles. As fuel and transport costs continue to rise, smart and efficient routes are more necessary now than ever before.
